Cantate Domino Jan. 2025
On January 4-5, 2025 we traveled to Lancaster to film the Cantate Domino choir.
We interviewed four of the composers, which provided an inside look at the making of the pieces, and a glimpse of the hard work that they did.
We also videoed a one hour masterclass from Michael John Trotta, about music theory and other musical elements.
The second day we went to a church to film the choir. We set up eleven cameras on tripods, and set up two Aputure lights, that we bounced off of the ceiling to help add more light. During the program, Tristan and Alex were both manning a tripod, called a fluid head. This allows for smooth controlled, panning movements. Geryll was operating a monopod, with a gimbal on top. This setup meant that he wasn’t restricted to one spot. The setup also allowed him to get more interesting looking shots, and foreground. — Tristan Zehr
